Follow-up from "WIP: Lazy imports"

The below discussion got lost because we chose !207 (merged) instead of !192 (closed).

The following discussion from !192 (closed) should be addressed:

    After this issue is merged, we should also fix the tutorials to not emphasize importing pyplot if it isn't necessary for direct calling by the user.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
