Video suggestions lecture_3
Here is a list of video suggestions for lecture 3 on the Drude model.
- Video on problem statement and the Drude model. Clearly state the assumptions of the Drude model. Also clearly mention that we only consider scattering of ions and not of electrons. We also consider the electrons as classical particles.
- Video on the derivation of the equations of motion of the electrons. This is rather straight forward but should be done in a very explanatory way.
- Video on equation of motion for finite E and B = 0. This video also contains the derivation of important quantities such as electron mobility.
- Video on scattering and Matthiessens rule.
- Video on the Hall effect. This is a somewhat hard topic to grasp at first so it could use an example/image of a Hall bar. The image on this page is also really useful. In this section it might also be important to clearly write down the equations of motion and show how to set up the resistivity matrix. Also clearly show the hall resistance and explain the resistivity in a certain direction.
Not really a video suggestion, but this might be a fun topic of debate. The possibility of measuring a negative resistance in a hall bar.
