Run redis from the conda environment
Currently we require redis to be installed system-wide. We want to reduce the number of system-wide dependencies.
Redis is also available from conda in the anaconda channel: https://anaconda.org/anaconda/redis. After installing you can then run a redis server from the command line using redis-server
. Since redis may already be installed and running as a system service, we should run it on a non-standard port.
Related is #237 (closed), as we ultimately want to add redis to the conda environment.yml
.
